Location: 300 ft from the beach, 7 min walk to the train station and the airport was only a 24 euro taxi ride away. Room was always clean and we had fresh towels every day. Near plenty of restaurants and there was also a grocery store close to the hotel. Breakfast was satisfying.
The hotel was outstanding and the service friendly and immaculate. We were very pleasantly surprised by the overall standards and intend to stay again
I went to Castelldelfels to accompagny my husband while he did a sailing race organized by the Club Nautico across the street from Hotel Mediterraneo. I expected to stay at a convenient location - that's all. I mentioned that I would like a nice view with little noise. I didn't think anyone would even read my request. When I arrived in my room and found a view so beautiful that I didn't need to leave my balcony to find another subject for the watercolor that I had intended to do during my short stay in Spain. The staff was so friendly that I made the comment to my husband that I didn't know how people working in a hotel could maintain such a genuinely considerate, warm and friendly attitude. The dinners were so incredibly good that I didn't look for elsewhere for meals. The location was so close to train service into Barcelona and the center of the little beach town that we didn't even need to use our car once during our stay On my trip home I was trying to think of reasons to return to Castelldefels in the future to renew the pleasant experience.
It was pretty, convenient, clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was great - all for a reasonable price.
The beach was awesome. The combining rooms are for families great.
The staff of the night and early morning was great and he even opened the conference room so I could use the computer. The lady who came later was a pain in the neck, she said I could not use the computer until 10. And she gave us wrong information about Barcelona (she said there was parking places everywhere and easy to get there, but the night portier had given us the good advice to park outside for free and take the metro Saint Ildefons to town.) She also didn't deliver my letters because she said that they were coloured so the post office wouldn't take them. I had paid for them to be sent! But my uncle who stayed longer took them to Canada and then sent them. I hope this lady gets another job, she never smiled and seemed very unpolite.
We had 2 interconnecting rooms for 2 adults and 2 teenage children, which was great. The buffet breakfast was excellent and served up to 10.30am, which meant that we did not have to get up too early. The hotel had a good sized pool ,and was just across the road from the beach. We were 5 minutes walk from the train station, with Barcelona 25 minutes away to the north on the train, and Sitges 10 minutes away to the south. Trains ran every 30 minutes in both directions.
In general staff were very friendly and helpful, however there was 1 older lady on reception who was very rude and dismissive. She refused to allow us a late checkout on the day we were leaving, despite the hotel being less than half full, and us offering to pay extra. This meant we had to checkout at 12 noon, and just hang around the hotel for about 5 hours. Other than this we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
We liked everything. Please note: if you are arriving by train, note that the hotel is located not near "Castelldefels" station but 5 min. Walk from the next "Platja de Castelldefels" station - trains only directing to "Vilanova I la Geltru" make a stop there.
great location for castelldefels beach nice pool and sundeck nice breakfasts
restaurant dinners were a bit limited
Ideal hotel location for trips in to Barcelona , Friendly and helpful staff
Lovely hotel and in a good location for the beach and also near restaurants. Hotel staff very friendly. Our room was a bit small and we asked to change to a bigger one and there was no problem.
It was a bit quiet in the evening with no entertainment. Also our flight was late in the evening and we had to hang around for the day but they said there was no facility to have a shower as all the rooms were full.
Location was great, steps away from the beach with umbrellas and chaise lounges (5 eur per each), nice walk to restaurants, rather well insulated rooms noise wise, air condition worked reasonably well. The swimming pool was medium sized, nice and clean. We did not take the breakfast at the hotel, as we found places steps away where you can have a nice breakfast for less. There is also a small bakery very close (Panet) where you can buy croissants, baguettes, and coffee. Store steps away, for food, water, sunscreen, etc. Walking distance to the train station, short trip to Barcelona, exit on the Paseig the Gracia, in the middle of everything. Taxi from the airport was 30 euros (at night), going back to the airport was 25. The airport is less than 20 minutes away. All was very convenient, except for the bed.
The bed was too hard, not very comfortable - but I am very picky. The room was rather small.
Exactly what I expect from a 4 star hotel. From friendly professional staff to impeccable rooms. Facilities small but good. I was the only person using the gym and pool most instances. Crossed the road to the beach or shop. Perfect
Price of food especially breakfast. Did not eat here for that reason.
Beautiful rooms, very well laid out and maintained; and just 20 metres from a fantastic beach. Helpful staff, excellent buffet breakfast. Impeccable cleanliness and service. We will return.
There was confusion about whether buffer breakfast was to be included in price; tho i had email from Booked.net suggesting it was, when i checked out, it was not, and so i paid more for the holiday than i had expected. still, it was all great value and worth it and i will go back.
The room was gorgeous and the hotel was clean. It was nice and quiet, great for relaxation. Excellant location, right next to the beach, and lovely restaurants along the same street as the hotel. Relaxing by the pool was perfect, always free sun loungers and never too busy. Easy to get to Barcelona from the hotel; bus right across the street, very frequent and cheap, 2€ to Barcelona. Stayed a week in the hotel and went to the city 3 times. It was a great hotel to stay in or a mixture of city and leisure.
The bar was often unattended and it was difficult to find someone to serve you during the day; we wanted a drink for by the pool and it took quite a while before we could find a bar-tender.
One of the best locations of Castelldefels seashore: beautiful and close to Barcelona and the airport Spacious rooms with all necessary facilities ... but the robes and tea-coffe set :) Daily room cleaning. Friendly professional stuff. Good hotel restaurant as well as a lot around. Balcony for relax or getting sunbath. Good windows protecting any noise from the street though the place is quiet.
The hotel rooms seems to have been renovated and were very nice. The proximity of the airport, beach and restaurant as well as the night life area was really cool.
